Choosing your favorite DAW /// Cuál es el mejor DAW ?

I have been working with analogue and digital audio equipment for a very long time now. When the first DAWs appeared in the market I started experimenting with Cakewalk, Cubase and later Live. I also worked with Pro Tools and Logic Pro, but after several years of production I realized that Live was the most flexible and reliable tool when performing live. Its loop based perspective made it somehow unique; and the development team seemed to have also experience onstage which made sense to me. /// 🌐 He trabajado con equipo análogo y digital por décadas. Cuando los primeros Estudios Virtuales aparecieron en el mercado, comencé a trabajar con Cakewalk, Cubase y más tarde Live. También tuve oportunidad de trabajar con Pro Tools y Logic Pro, sin embargo, tras muchos años de trabajo en audio llegué a la conclusión de que Live es la herramienta más flexible y segura cuando se trata de presentaciones en escenario. Su perspectiva basada en loops lo hizo único en su momento, aunque ahora muchos otros ofrecen la misma perspectiva, lo convirtió en la mejor herramienta de improvisación hasta el momento.

But from my perspective it’s not about falling in love with a tool or a device it’s about the process itself. It all begins with selecting instruments; rhythm and harmony, then comes the arrangement and later the mix, master and broadcasting or distribution. It’s about the whole picture. /// 🌐 Desde mi perspectiva no se trata de enamorarse de la herramienta sino del proceso; todo empieza por seleccionar los instrumentos apropiados, la métrica y el ritmo ideal y más tarde los arreglos y la masterhzación para su distribución masiva.

Live seemed to cover almost all the way through- and I’m not interested in collecting third party plug-ins and add-ons. I like to work with the basic tools and be able to exchange and collaborate with other producers or musicians with no headaches at all. /// 🌐 Me dió la impresión que Live cubría todos los aspectos importantes y no me considero un coleccionista de Plug ins. Para mi es importante dominar las herramientas básicas para poder tener compatibilidad y transferencias seguras con otros artistas en el medio.

That’s why I usually work with Ableton Live; I can do almost everything in just one screen. /// 🌐 Esa es la razón por la que trabajo con Ableton Live, hago todo desde una sola pantalla.
